Dr. Izaskun Lacunza

Dr. Izaskun Lacunza is a science policy practitioner currently holding the Science for Policy Direction at the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology. She is focused on bringing science beyond the frontiers of academia. She is one of the coordinators of the Science and Technology Office at the Congress of Deputies in Spain, which connects science with Members of Parliament for better informed policymaking.

She chaired the “ERAC Triangle Task Force”, which brought together gender equality, open science, and human resources in research experts in order to review the 2005 Charter and Code for Researchers and to propose an updated version that better embedded gender equality and open science. This work was taken into consideration in the recent Council Recommendation for on a European framework to attract and retain research, innovation and entrepreneurial talents in Europe.
