Anne Pépin
Anne Pépin is a research director at the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) and was awarded the CNRS Bronze Medal for young researchers in 2003 for her contribution to nanotechnology.

She started getting involved in gender equality policy in research in 2006, and from 2012 to 2017, she was Head of the unit in charge of gender equality policy at CNRS, and coordinating several related EU-funded projects including the GENDER-NET ERA-NET.
In 2017, she joined the Gender Sector of the European Commission’s Directorate General for Research and Innovation as a senior policy officer in charge of developing gender equality policy at ERA level and devising dedicated provisions and programming in Horizon Europe. She led the Gender Sector from 2023 to 2024. She is currently a special advisor at CNRS’s Directorate-General for Science, providing analysis and policy recommendations on gender equality in scientific decision-making positions, including among CNRS’ 1000+ laboratory directors.y.
