Astrid Schwarzenberger worked as a researcher on higher education funding and steering, then joined DLR Project Management Agency in Bonn in 2008. Her work focus gradually shifted from European education and training to research and innovation policy. In 2015, she became head of the German National Contact Point on Marie Skłodowska Curie actions. Since 2017, she is head of the German Contact Point “Women into EU research” (Frauen in die EU-Forschung, FiF), which advises scientists on all matters related to gender and equal opportunities in the European framework programme Horizon 2020.
