Enhancing Gender Equality and the Gender Dimension in Research and Innovation
In the context of its mutual learning and capacity building activities, GENDERACTION will organize a training on gender equality for policymakers in Athens in June 2019. The training aims to provide participants the opportunity to present and exchange experiences and best practices on gender equality aspects such as gender equality policies and plans of RFOs and RPOs, gender equality in Human Resource policies and practices in RPOs, and integrating the gender dimension in research. More specifically, the training will explore issues such as the design, adoption and monitoring of gender equality policies and plans in RFOs/ RPOs, ways of removing barriers that generate discrimination against women in scientific careers, the role of funders in integrating the gender dimension in research. A round-table discussion with the participation of representatives of key European organisations and groups will provide the opportunity to explore ways of moving forward the gender equality agenda at EU level.
Particular focus will be placed on stimulating a dialogue with participants in an effort to highlight different approaches and examples of best practice that could inspire less advanced stakeholders. To do so, the number of participants will not exceed 25.
